IL Jaycees TOYP Introduction Video for Susan Miceli-Green

Susan Miceli-Green was the Development Manager at the Vermilion County War Museum. The museum displays 250 years of war memorabilia and artifacts from the Revolutionary War to Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 14,000 sq. ft. museum opened in 1999 and has had over 10,000 visitors from every state. Susan was responsible for fundraising and programming at the museum.

She volunteers her time to portray Rosie the Riveter in online, social media and personal appearances to promote the museum. She was instrumental in updating and improving the design and appearance of displays to make the museum more interactive and attractive.

Susan serves as a volunteer producer and judges coordinator for the National Ms. American Elegance Pageant. She devotes countless hours in welcoming women from all different backgrounds and across the Nation into the pageant. Through the Ms. American Elegance Pageant, she has received numerous awards including Ms. Royal Elegance Elite 2018, Ms. Elegance International 2016, Ms. American Elegance Woman 2015, and Nedra Stewart Community Service Award Winner 2014.

Susan is a member of the Danville Lions Club and has volunteered at many events including candy day, Chili Day, and helped spread the word about vision and hearing fairs that provide low cost or free glasses and hearing aids to those in need.

She also volunteers at Post 210 American Legion at a variety events including Wednesday night meal, Working out PTSD event, State Golf Tournament. She volunteers at the VA and leads a collection drive for holiday cards and delivers them to patients.

Susan previously served as Danville Jaycees local chapter president and an Illinois Jaycees region director. She was a recipient of JCI USA’s Charles Kulp, Jr Award for an Outstanding local chapter president and the chapter was recognized as one of the best in the nation. She is a 10th Degree Jaycee.

Susan started a successful tanning and lash extension business, Ready, Set, Glo in 2016. The company is sponsoring the Miss Georgetown Fair Queen pageant. She works as a Technical Writer at IronBow Technologies.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education/ Athletic Training from Eureka College and earned a Dual Masters of Sport Science in Sports Medicine/Sports Management from United States Sports Academy.

Susan is being recognized in the category of Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership. Susan lives in Georgetown with her husband, David.
